Debt settlement is a growing option for consumers wanting a fresh start. It is also a good option for homeowners just coming out of foreclosure or setting up a mortgage modification. Why?

Debt settlement can give a struggling family a fresh start and new plan to pay off debt. Most homeowners getting behind on their mortgage are going to get behind on other bills such as credit cards. This creates a cycle of debt that literally can not be stopped unless most let it all go into collections and this can turn into judgement and liens.

Debt settlement allows a homeowner in a hardship to settle unsecured debt for about 40 cents on the dollar or 40% of what they actually owe. A homeowner that may of been sick, lost a job, or went through foreclosure may now be on track but the massive amount of back pay for late bills does not give them a chance.

Debt settlement will take what was once $1000 in debt and allow a person to pay around $400 per month. This frees up cash in a tight budget and allows homeowners to start paying bills on time and can assure they never get behind on their mortgage again.

Debt settlement is a more agressive approach to restarting your financial situation. It does not improve credit scores right away but does give you the chance to start over and put together a plan to improving credit scores through credit restoration.
